Your money waits with us

The seller can see the payment is secured, but it's only released when you confirm delivery.

Every seller is verified

Sellers confirm their identity with a Ghana Card before they can receive a single cedi.

Problems get resolved

If something goes wrong, open a dispute. Both sides share evidence and a mediator makes a fair call.

How it works

Four steps. Nobody has to trust a stranger.

  1. A new SurePay deal for Fresh sneakers, waiting for the buyer's payment
    Step 1

    Agree on a deal

Buyer and seller agree on the item and price, then one of them opens a SurePay deal.

  2. A Mobile Money payment approved and held in SurePay escrow
    Step 2

    Buyer pays into escrow

Pay with MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash or AirtelTigo Money. SurePay holds the money — the seller can see it's there but can't touch it.

  3. The seller's phone showing a 'Payment secured — ship it now' notification
    Step 3

    Seller ships

The seller sends the item and adds proof of delivery, like a courier reference.

  4. The buyer's phone after confirming delivery: payment released to the seller
    Step 4

    Buyer confirms, seller is paid

Once the item arrives as described, the buyer confirms and the money is released to the seller's wallet.

Protection

Something wrong? Your money stays put.

Raise a dispute before you confirm. The money stays held while both sides share photos and courier receipts, and a SurePay mediator decides: refund, release, or a fair split.

Rooted in Ashanti wisdom

Built on values Ghana already trusts

Adinkra are Akan visual proverbs, stamped by hand onto cloth in Ntonso and worn across the Ashanti Kingdom for generations. These six say what SurePay stands for.

  • Funtunfunefu Denkyemfunefu

    "Two crocodiles, one stomach"

Shared fate, even when wants differ.

At SurePay: Buyer and seller share one outcome. Escrow means neither can win by cheating the other.

  • Nkonsonkonson

    "Chain link"

    Unity and human relations.

At SurePay: Every deal links a buyer and a seller, and that link holds until both are satisfied.

  • Sankofa

    "Go back and get it"

Learn from the past to build the future.

At SurePay: Your record follows you. Every honest deal builds your Trust Score.

  • Dwennimmen

    "Ram's horns"

    Strength with humility.

At SurePay: Disputes are settled firmly and fairly, on the evidence from both sides.

  • Adinkrahene

    "Chief of the Adinkra"

    Leadership and greatness.

At SurePay: Leadership that answers for itself: a person signs off every flagged payout.

  • Gye Nyame

    "Except God"

The supremacy of God; the best-known Adinkra symbol in Ghana.

Shown with respect. We never use it as a product badge.

Questions, answered

What if my item never arrives?

Don't confirm — raise a dispute from the deal page instead. Your money stays held while the seller responds and, if needed, a SurePay mediator reviews the evidence from both sides. If the seller can't show proof of delivery, you're refunded.

How long is my money held?

Until you confirm the item arrived. After the seller ships, you have a confirmation window (72 hours for newer sellers, shorter for proven ones, longer for international delivery). If you don't confirm or dispute before it ends, payment is released automatically — so check your item promptly.

Who can sell on SurePay?

Anyone with a valid Ghana Card. Sellers verify their identity before they can receive money through escrow, so you always know who you're dealing with.

What does it cost?

Buyers pay a small fee on top of the item price — between 3.0% and 2.0%, depending on the seller's trust tier. Sellers receive the full price they listed. There's no subscription and no fee to sign up.

Which mobile money networks work?

MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AirtelTigo Money — both for paying into escrow and for withdrawing to your phone.

Is SurePay a marketplace?

Both. Keep buying and selling wherever you already do (Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok, Jiji, Facebook) and pay through SurePay once you've found each other. You can also browse the SurePay marketplace, where every seller has verified their Ghana Card, and every seller gets a shop page to share.
